I love photo booths! Ask anyone! It’s true! In my kitchen I have a little collection of different photo booth photos with my friends from various events and or even from the regular booths on the streets. It’s a tiny bit tacky maybe, but I love it anyway because it’s a nice little memento of a certain event or time you’ve shared with a friend.
At the Eastside Gallery along the former Berlin Wall there is now a brand new big photo booth you have to check out! More about it and some impressions after the jump.
This bright orange photobooth is a special satelite IFA presentation by Microsoft and it has some really nifty features! First of all instead of the regular plain white backdrop of the normal photobooths this one has a view over the artworks on the former Berlin Wall (which is by the way the longest open air gallery in Europe if you didn’t know that already). How cool is that!?! Secondly it uses a smartphone as a camera, so not only can you make a selfie in front of the Berlin Wall you can even Skype with your friends and family in this photobooth. As a little bit of a technical background: The phone in this booth is the unreleased Nokia Lumia 735 that has the biggest front facing camera of any smartphone which makes it perfect for every selfie addict.
As a third point this box will demystify the inner workings of these magical automats for you. There is a man inside the box behind the camera! I swear, I saw it! I peaked inside. It works pretty much like in this Vine.
If you want to expand your photobooth collection with this special gem at the Berlin Wall you can do this only today from 11-17:30h. After that Microsoft will send the box on its way to new locations, so hurry up!
Thanks for the friendly support by Microsoft
