Next month the internationally renowned Lollapalooza festival will take place at the Tempelhofer Airport as the first European edition. 28 years ago the festival started off in Chicago – Chile, Brazil and Argentina joined a few years later. From September 12-13 you can enjoy live performances from various international artists such as Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, The Libertines and Muse or to the local heroes Seeed, Deichkind and Beatsteaks, have some nice food and enjoy many different activities.
We are very much looking forward to this selection of great artists and especially to the wild mix of different kinds of music. At Lollapalooza you can dance in step, enjoy slow beats with tears in your eyes and just have a good time with your friends. Since the Berlin Festival is no longer taking place at the Flughafen Tempelhof, it’s a big pleasure to get the chance to have a look at the premises of the airport – which has become a really rare possibility.
More about the Lollapalooza festival after the jump.
The little ones are warmly welcome and can have a fun time at the Kidzapalooza. Dancing puppets, a jangling machine that promises to grant your wishes and a battle involving loo paper rolls are waiting for you, kids! For the first time ever you can visit the Fashionpalooza, an integrated area that focuses on fashion. Here you can become participant of brand experiences and have some fun with interesting workshops and creative interactions.
The Lollapalooza stands for the integration and implementation of sustainable and social issues, values reflected in the sustainable theme park in which non-profit organizations provide visitors with useful information about our environment. In the district garden, the oasis of calm, you can enjoy some relaxing moments and have a glass of wine.
The festival’s name reminds one of a colorful lollipop and this image shows somehow the idea of Lollapalooza. There are different kinds of music – hip-hop, dance, country and rock – and it’s bringing different ideas of lifestyle, artwork, food and experiences together.
