What happens when a car is designed not by an automobile designer but by a fashion stylist? You will find out this week during Berlin Fashion Week…
It makes a lot of sense. The sophisticated individualists of today expect a certain level of style from every product they surround themselves with. It doesn’t stop at fashion, interior design and consumer electronics. It’s only natural that they desire their cars to match their aesthetics as well. The smart BRABUS tailor made program is the clever answer to this as it gives customers the chance to design the slick city car in the colors and with the features they wish.
In the following two days you have the chance to see one extremely fashionable customized smart as part of the photo MADE exhibition “Artfashion” at the Apple Design Gallery in Mitte: the smart fortwo | BRABUS tailor made by Veronika Heilbrunner.
This special car was designed by renowned style icon Veronika Heilbrunner, a celebrated stylist and fashion editor of online magazine hey woman!. In a making-of video and photo series by fashion photographer Sabrina Theissen you can see what all the different elements of her designs were inspired by – of course there is a story to every little detail. After all a good design always tells an interesting story.
Furthermore the MADE “Artfashion” exhibition shows the work of iconic stylist Patricia Field (whose work many of you might have seen in The Devil Wears Prada and Sex and the City) and her collaborations with talented artists such as Ben Copperwheat, Jody Morlock, Iris Bonner, Kyle Brincefield, SSIK Designs, Hushi Mortezaie, and Scooter LaForge. So this is definitely an event during Berlin Fashion Week that should not be missed!
If you feel inspired to get creative and design your own smart |BRABUS tailor made afterwards you can head over here and see if you can make it match your favorite pair of sunglasses, or if you prefer to trust the taste of Veronika Heilbrunner it will also be possible to (almost entirely) recreate her design in the tailor made generator. Enjoy!
