When it comes to breakfast cafes I have to admit that I tend to always go to the same places, mostly my neighborhood cafe around the corner. But in the last year or so there have been so many cool new cafes opening up around various neighborhoods in Berlin that I thought it was about time to make a new version of our super popular breakfast & brunch places guide. This old guide still holds a lot of great places that are total classics now for Berlin, but this new guide should finally give some chance to newer cafes in town! Enjoy our list…
Annelies
My favorite one on the list is also the newest one. It has the most amazing location right by Görlitzer Park (formerly Zum Gipfeltreffen and Gipfel) and with the former chef of partner cafe Distrik Coffee in Mitte you can expect a pretty amazing dished perfect for breakfast, brunch and lunch. We got to try a couple of them and everything was quite amazing and also more original than your average avocado toast.
Annelies, Görlitzer Strasse 68, 10997 Berlin-Kreuzberg
Open: Wednesday to Friday: 9:00 – 17:00, Saturday & Sunday: 10:00 – 18:00

Mirage
Mirage is maybe not super new, but we still haven’t given this gorgeous place in Wedding some attention here on the blog – about time! From the lovely interior and its sunny bright spot by a bigger square we come right to the lovely food menu with colorful bowls for breakfast or tapas for the night. Also check their changing exhibitions and cultural program at night.
Mirage Bistrot, Reinickendorferstraße 110, 13347 Berlin-Wedding
Open: Mon – Wed 10:00 – 18:00, Thu 10:00 – 22:00 (Tapas Night) Fr: 10:00 – 22:00 (Concerts & Jam Sessions) Sat: 11:00 – 22:00 (Breakfast & Cultural Afternoon) Sun: 11:00 – 20:00 (Brunch until 17:00)

The Greens
The Greens might be the best looking place in our list, but it’s also a quite hidden one, as it’s inside a less busy area in Mitte, inside the Alte Münze aka Spreewerkstätten. It’s filled to the brim with lovely plants which makes it a pleasure for the eye. Their breakfast offerings are more on the easy-going side, but they do have soups and bowls for lunch – and you can buy the lovely plants!
The Greens – Coffee & Plants, c/o Alte Münze, Am Krögel 2, 10179 Berlin-Mitte
Open: Monday to Friday: 10:00 – 18:00, Saturday & Sunday: 12:00 – 18:00

Unser Cafe
This lovely, down-to-earth cafe in the Scandinavian area in Prenzlauer Berg is giving us some Portuguese vibes with their big selections of Pastel de Natas and other typical pastries. Their breakfast dishes are more international with typical things like avocado and eggs, as well as Shakshuka.
Unser Cafe, Dänenstrasse. 14, 10439 Berlin.
Open: Monday to Friday: 7:00 – 20:00, Saturday & Sunday: 9:00 – 20:00

Be’kech
Be’kech in Gesundbrunnen is not your average new trendy cafe, but it is all the more interesting. It’s interior gives us some Arabian cosiness with a menu full of fresh vegan dishes. They describe themselves as “Berlin’s first Anti-Café. An epicentre of all things social, entrepreneurial and cultural.” The cafe also functions as a co-working space with friendly minute and day rates.
Be’kech, Exerzierstrasse 14, 13357 Berlin-Gesundbrunnen
Open: Monday: 9:00 – 19:00, Tuesday – Thursday: 9:00 – 24:00, Saturday & Sunday: 9:00 – 1:00

Holy Coffee
Holy Coffee is a good-looking new spot on Sonnenallee making all the young Neukölln folks happy with their excellent coffee. Their food is right now still on the snacky side of things, but they announce that soon there will be proper breakfast and brunch. Looking forward to that!
Holy Coffee, Sonnenallee 132, 12059 Berlin-Neukölln
Open: Monday to Friday: 7:00 – 20:00 Saturday & Sunday: 9:00 – 20:00

The Future Breakfast
The Future Breakfast is a new brunch spot in Neukölln that found its new home after serving their lovely dishes from a cute little food caravan at various street food markets and events in the last years. We wrote about their new cafe a bit more detailed here.
The Future Breakfast, Böhmische Str. 46, 12055 Berlin-Neukölln
Open: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday: 8:30-18:00, Saturday & Sunday: 9:30-18:00

Paulinski Palme
Going even further down the Neukölln road we find the charming Paulinski Palme. It’s not simply a cafe because they serve so much more than breakfast and coffee, they also offer lunch and dinner. All very savory and yummy kind of dishes that you just want more and more of.
Paulinski Palme, Richardstraße 76,12043 Berlin-Neukölln
Open: Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday: 10:00 – 24:00

The Visit Schöneberg
The Visit might be familiar for some of you as they have a pretty stylish place in Kreuzberg in a backyard of Adalbertstraße and we hear there is also one in Wedding. But for our guide we picked the one in Schöneberg that’s quite new. Expect similarly good coffee as in their Kreuzberg one (which is also the main roastery, the have their own coffee) and a quite expansive food menu.
The Visit, Goltzstraße 39, 10781 Berlin-Schöneberg
Open: Monday to Sunday: 8:00 – 19:00
