These Berlin Clubs Re-Opened from Lockdown with New Concepts

These Berlin Clubs Re-Opened from Lockdown with New Concepts

Our fingers are itching. After months of staring at the woodchip wallpaper of our Berlin flats, we have “BOCK” as we like to say in German (which means to be very much in the mood for something). Bock, to go out again. Bock to sway to smooth electronic or raging techno beats while moving our bodies, sipping on a cold beer. Normally the Berlin crowd is used to completely different circumstances at the start of the summer party season when the painful question is, what party to attend, instead of none at all.

This year everything is different. Or least we thought so. After Berlin’s motivated party crowd heavy heartedly accepted the no-clubbing-corona-rules for 2020, there now appears to be hope. Little by little the bigger clubs with an outside area are opening their gardens! At first only for gastronomy purposes with strict “no dancing” rules, but that’s enough to give our grieving party community a glimmer of hope.

Note: Please consult the corresponding social media pages of each club for any changes in regards to their opening times. These might change according to the weather and the current situation.

These Berlin Bars Deliver Excellent Cocktails to Your Home

These Berlin Bars Deliver Excellent Cocktails to Your Home

photo: Drink Syndikat.

I have to admit it: I really miss having a good drink. With bars closed now for over a month and most likely remaining shut for several more weeks to come my craving for a good cocktail is really growing strong. Of course, it’s the atmosphere of a good cocktail bar and the going out part that I miss dearly, but let’s face it, this just can’t happen right now and I don’t want to dwell on it. But what I technically don’t have to miss out on is the taste of a delicious cocktail – even if I have to drink it alone at home in isolation. Considering my own mixing skills would only accomplish a gin and tonic at most, it’s the refined work of Berlin’s best bartenders and mixologists that I would greatly appreciate now.

Much to my delight, I recently found out, that there are actually a few bars that do cocktail deliveries within Berlin. How amazing is that? This way you can just get the bar feel to your house. Here’s our little guide to cocktail delivery services in Berlin.

These Berlin Cafes Deliver Breakfast & Brunch to your Home

These Berlin Cafes Deliver Breakfast & Brunch to your Home

Geist im Glas Brunch, photo: Julia Liebisch.

Last week we already introduced you to all those great Berlin restaurants that currently deliver their lovely food to your home. Today we wanna cover all your breakfast and brunch cravings! For me, breakfast is my favorite meal of the day and going to a cafe for a French Toast or Shakshuka is one of my favorite things in terms of eating out. Many cafes are completely closed right now, only a few are still cooking and offer take away, and when it comes to delivery, well, the options are even more limited. But luckily, those few options that we could find, are excellent as they are some of the best brunch and breakfast options anyway.

As with the restaurant guide, as well you have to keep in mind that some of the delivery services of the following places are brand new and might still have room for improvement, so be patient with them in these complicated times. Also, the photos don’t necessarily reflect the dishes they offer for delivery as these change on a daily bases for some places. The times and days they offer delivery also vary, so please follow the link in the text to find out more about the specifics of their delivery services.

These Awesome Berlin Restaurants Offer Home Deliveries

These Awesome Berlin Restaurants Offer Home Deliveries

Normally around this time of the year, we would offer you a guide of the newest restaurants in Berlin. Well, things went a little differently this year and now we found ourselves scouting through various websites, Instagram accounts and Facebook pages to find out which of our favorite Berlin joints is actually still open and cooking during the current lockdown and – more importantly – who is doing home deliveries so we can avoid leaving our quarantine. We put together a quite eclectic mix of different styles of restaurants from fine dining to street food, and we also tried to cover places across the city.

Keep in mind some of these restaurants are only making their first experiences with deliveries, so be patient with them. It’s a tough situation for the entire gastronomic scene. It might be worth keeping tuned to their channels for any changes in regards to times and delivery terms. We’ve linked the most helpful website or social media account of each place in the texts below. Guten Appetit!

Hot Yoga & Healthy Food: These Entrepreneurs Offer an Oasis for Stressed Berliners

Hot Yoga & Healthy Food: These Entrepreneurs Offer an Oasis for Stressed Berliners

Especially in winter when the days are short and the light is gloomy, every Berliner wishes to hop on a plane to Bali or at least to South Europe. But all the plane-hopping is surely not so good for our planet and not the best choice if you have a fulltime job and a family here in Berlin.

Exactly 11 years ago on a really hard winter night, a friend of mine brought me to my first SUNYOGA class in Kreuzberg. Afterward, I felt completely exhausted but in the nicest way. Like you had spent a whole day at the ocean.  Back then I had never heard of the concept of Hot Yoga and did not know anything about the health benefits and how it would change my life for good.

How it Feels to Run Your First Marathon in Berlin

How it Feels to Run Your First Marathon in Berlin

After running his first marathon our guest writer Laurent sat down to share his experience at the run with us, as well as the program that Nike hosted in their Home of Running where he lead a panel talk with the founders of some of Berlin’s biggest running communities.

“Are you running the Berlin marathon?” This is probably the question I have been asked the most in the last 3 months. When you are a runner, running a marathon is already one big thing. Living in Berlin and running the Berlin Marathon is THE thing!

This is not just another race. It is the race! It is incredible to see how the city changes from the week prior to this big event. Runners from all countries are invading the city and bring it to life in a different way! Streets, parks, cafés, runners are everywhere, getting their last kilometers before the big day! The atmosphere and enthusiasm around running have been growing so much in the past years. And Berlin has definitely played an enormous role in shaping the running culture.
