The Cuntemporary Kiki Ball 2 by Father Dante & Joana

Ballroom is art! And that’s why it naturally belongs to the Berlin Art Week. For the second time already, Father Dante Telfar and Joana Juicy Couture hosted the Cuntemporary Kiki Ball as part of the big group exhibition Hallen at Wilhelmhallen. For a ball to happen between some of the hottest contemporary artworks of our time is just so delicious – a perfect setting for the talent of the ballroom scene.

To have Father Dante host here in Berlin is also a special and rare treat – he started his ballroom career here in Berlin but moved to Portugal, where he became a mover and shaker of the scene, regularly hosting functions and becoming a house father. Having known him for so long, it’s great to have seen him rise to who he is now.

The Kiki really delivered what it promised with some amazing looks (looking at you, MST), fierce performances, and gorgeous faces. I loved the pink color theme and the looks it inspired. I think this was also the busiest I have seen the Realness category in quite a while, and I’m glad for such a historically important category to shine.

I had loads of fun taking photos, and of course I’m here today to share the results with you. As always, participants and organizers are welcome to download and share the photos. A tag to @iheartberlin is appreciated. Enjoy!
