I have been to Wannsee official beach some time ago – it was awful! Super loud, dirty, and unpleasant. Better go find a spot deeper in the forest.
Also Plotzensee is nice – close to reach form Wedding 🙂
Misleading title! It should be “Lakes around the Berlin”.Some of the lakes mentiones in article are not in Berlin.Since when Postdam is Berlin?
Nice List!!
Why on the website for Kaulsdorfer Seen they state that it’s nor allowed to swim in those lakes, but at the same time it appears on the official Berlin Bade-Karte? So is it forbidden to swim there, or is it not? Or people are supposed to go there and not go in the water?
Great list. Thank you !
FYI: Müggelsee is not southeast OF Berlin, but still within the Berlin borders (albeit IN the southeast).
Unlike Wannsee, entry here is free and even on busy days, Müggelsee is not as crowded as Wannsee and you can still find spaces in the shade. For a proper East Berlin lake experience, complete with Currywurst and Milchreis as your choice of lunch, this shoudl be your go-to beach. The tram 61 stops directly in front of the entrance every 20 mins.
Where are Plötsenzee?
Great article, thanks a lot!
Hi all, great list! Please just male sure not to go to Tegeler See with a dog – 17 (!!!!) dogs have died there this season; they think it is because of poisonous algae in the water. Would not take a kid there, too.. Maybe tale it off the list or mention?
Are dogs allowed to all these lakes?
With all of the natural beaches, we mentioned I would assume it’s not a problem. The ones that are fenced off and with an entry like Nymphensee, Wannsee, Müggelsee, etc. dogs will most likely not be allowed. Also, take note of the comment above in regards to Tegeler See.
There are no dogs allowed at any beach in Brandenburg from April to Oktober. Look at this: http://bravors.brandenburg.de/de/verordnungen-211875
Furthermore its forbidden to use rowboats or SUP at natural reserves like Sacrower See.
And you have to keep a sufficient distance of at least 50meters to the forest for smoking.
