Today we want to introduce you to a very special event that will tickle the interest of both street art lovers and runners alike: The On Art Run.
Our new guest writer Laurent has already introduced himself to you as a running enthusiast who likes to combine this sport with other activities and also compiled a list of the best running routes in Berlin for us. To our big delight this week there is a chance for all of you to go out running with him for the On Art Run that will take place on Thursday starting in Kreuzberg and going all the way Friedrichshain past some of the most iconic street art murals of the city including the cosmonaut by Victor Ash that was recently illuminated by a spectacular video mapping.

Of course, as the founder of the Urban Art Run, Laurent is already an expert on tours like this combining running with exploring street art and giving some insights about each artwork. So the collaboration with the Swiss running shoe brand On for this event really is a match made in athlete heaven.
And the best part: It’s completely free! Every running enthusiast is welcome to join. But to keep the group in a manageable size the available spots are limited – you better register here quickly if you want to be part of the run!
The tour will start at 17:30 at the % Arabica coffee shop where you have about an hour to get to know Laurent and the other runners, drop your bag and pick an On running shoe in your size which you can try out for this run. At 18:30h the actual run will commence and bring you past several significant pieces of street art that Laurent will tell you little stories about.
The run will be for 6 kilometers and will lead you over to Friedrichshain where it will end at Urban Spree gallery with a party! Here you’ll be able to enjoy music and free food and drinks, as well as a live art performance. You can also check out the current exhibition of Marina Zumi at the gallery and even get your own exclusive and personal screenprint giveaway. Does that sound good? It sure does for us!
But that’s not even all! There’s something even more meaningful involved. The whole run is not a race, so you will not be timed. But for every kilometer run by the participants On will donate 1 EUR to Laurent’s charity campaign Active Giving that converts athletic accomplishments into funds for charity organizations, for instance, reforestation projects. So the more runners that participate the more trees will get planted.
To get you in the mood we have a little review video from last year’s On Art Run for you below. Enjoy and see you on the pavement!
