15 Minutes of Fame

Actually it’s anything but Fame. It’s about presenting a view, a thought or your favourite subject. It’s about connecting with people. Making them laugh, think, cry, cheer or anything else you want them to feel. It’s your moment to share and to be heard. You could also rant, debate, provoke, empower or inspire. It’s anything you want it to be, except a sales pitch of any sorts.

What am I talking about?

It’s making its debut in Berlin. It’s happening on 12 June and it’s called Interesting Berlin. Interested? (pun intended) Then read on to find out more.

Well, the venue has been selected – as you can see from the pictures. Now, they’re transforming the space and need the right people to support the making of a good event. So apart from doing the pre-requisite PR, marketing and promotional rounds, Interesting Berlin is also scouting participants for the evening. You can present ANYTHING that pulls at your heart -strings or inspires you except it can’t be commercially driven or a subliminal sales pitch of sorts. In other words, they don’t want to hear about your cool job or your favourite brand of shampoo or why you think globalisation is the best thing since sliced bread. They would rather you keep it real. So, if you’re keen to present something and think you have what it takes, then check out their website, sign-up, compare notes with the other confirmed speakers or take in a game of Tetris (hello again my wasted youth) while you decide.

The evening sets out to be one of new ideas, new people and “Oh My God, that’s so cool/I didn’t know that” moments. So, leave the self-promotion and marketing jargon at the door and come in with an open mind and the willingness to listen and explore.
Who knows? You might just mind find your 15 minutes of fame after all.
