48 Hours Neukölln

Blumentopf

The weekend is here, Hurrahh! Although Friday morning in Berlin will be forever remembered by the sad news of the King of Pop we’re raising a shiny white glove and hoping the sun will shine this weekend to bring us some happy vibes to hang out with at the 11th 48 Hours Neukölln Arts and Culture festival. This Kiez in South-East Berlin affectionately termed “The Ghetto” by a friend of mine and known for its unusual and refreshing art and culture scene is worth heading to this weekend (if you don’t already live there). More info after the jump.

Honestly, with so much going on, you’re not going to be stuck with the lack of something to see/do. From Rathaus Neukölln to Karl-Marx-Strasse and down to the streets near Hermannstrasse, there’s going to be art, music and action on the streets. I kid you not. Of course condensing the entire weekends programme (from Friday 21h to Sunday 21h) of over 1000 acts and 570 events at 255 different venues into my mini-post is just crazy and not feasible.

Thankfully the festival website has a pretty good summary of highlights of what’s going on plus lots of other details such as a map, artists information and shuttle info. It does sound like it could be 48 hours of fun, but hey, who’s counting.
