Football WM Screening Guide – The best Places for Public Viewings in Berlin

The whole city, no, the entire world, is abuzz with the world football championchip, or WM as we like to call it, that starts today. Ironically, Claudio, Devid and myself don’t really care about football, but we know that some of you might do. So we didn’t really want to let you down and assembled the best places for public viewings in Berlin in our little Football WM Screening Guide. We hope one or more of these places will be the right one for you! Enjoy an exciting football season!

1. muxmäuschenwild WM Studio in Mitte

The eMail magazine muxmäuschenwild set up a temporary WM Studio with a free private viewing on an empty piece of land on Torstraße 84 in Mitte. How can I go there when it’s private? Just register here for the guestlist. That’s all. On Facebook they will publish all the screenings dates for all the games.

2. Ländereck at Zwei Drei Raum in Kreuzberg

Quite a few really cool Berlin institutions (namely: Cookies, ZweiDrei Raum and MadeMyDay) came together to bring you one of the hippest screening locations of this championchip. At Gitschiner Str. 20 in Kreuzberg they invited several partners to host all the games, including Voo Store, Easydoesit, Standert Bicycles, Cee Cee, Frenc, Airbnb, About Now, Lodown, Looky Looky, eVe, Civilist, Wood Wood, Our/Berlin and a few more. You can find the dates and more infos here.

3. Protzen & Sohn BBQ and Beer Garden in Alt Stralau/Treptow

This brand new space on the peninsular Alt Stralau is a BBQ and beer garden and also hosts parties such as Cocktail D’Amour. For the world championchip they will screen every game in their garden at Alt-Stralau 4 (right behind the bridge on the right, past Wilde Renate) and you can enjoy it with a burger or Bratwurst. Yum!

4. Tiki Taka at Michelberger Hotel in Friedrichshain

Of course the crazy monkeys at Michelberger Hotel will have it their way and not call their public viewing WM Screening but Tiki Taka. Funny, and we love it. They have remodelled their backyard into a colorful wonderland with screenings of all the games plus music program, food and drinks. It’s at Warschauer Str. 39-40.

5. Amano WM Garden Lounge in Mitte

The Amano Hotel is one of the nicest and most popular boutique hotels in Berlin Mitte. For the WM season they teamed up with a few sponsors and set up their Amano WM Garden Lounge at Friedrichstr. 113. Enjoy a fresh pizza from Pizza Mario, a refreshing Gin Tonic from the Gin & Tonic bar and of course all of the games. If you are a hotel guest you can even use the shuttle service by SIXT.

6. Open Air Screening at Jackie O Bar in Rummelsburg

This one is a little unofficial because the place itself is a bit secretive and exclusive.  It’s a really nice location at the Rummelsburger Bucht directly at the water where Cookie (from Cookies) organized a nice summer party a few years ago. It’s called Jackie O Bar and it opened just a few weeks ago. It’s at Zur alten Flussbadeanstalt 1 in Rummelsburg, close to the Stadtboote boat rental at the water. They don’t screen all the games, but this weekend they will screen the games on Friday, Saturday and Monday in the coming days. Not open when the weather is bad.

7. Backyard WM WG in Kreuzberg

The home of Suz’ Last Days parties is also screening some of the football games in the backyard at Gitschiner Str. 22. There is an open BBQ, you can bring your own meat to grill. The bar will be open. The next screenings are on June 16, 21 and 26 (all  the German games).
