Back to Raving: These Berlin Clubs are Testing Corona-Proof Partying

photo: Keith Telfeyan

Just around two weeks ago, iHeartBerlin guest author Daniel was wondering where Berlin ravers party without the clubs and vice versa, what Berlin’s clubs are doing without raves. While these questions have been quite relevant for the past few months, we’ve just witnessed an almost unbelievable change.

The newest development in the volatile narrative of Berlin’s gradual reopening is the re-emergence of some clubs, specifically those with outdoor areas. Not just as a more funky alternative to beer gardens, but as an actual party destination. Of course, Covid-19 regulations apply: so be prepared to leave your contact info at the door and include a face mask as an obligatory addition to your attire.

Berghain

The rumors are true! You can party again in Berlin’s most legendary club. Well, kind of. While the interior is supposed to soon be transformed into a unique art gallery, parties are happening in the garden area.

Pornceptual

The famous sex-positive techno party at Alte Münze is back and announced their first Corona-compliant open-air party in the courtyard for the 5th of September. Tickets will only be available in limited quantities via online sale.

Else

Else is also back with quite a few open airs. This Thursday, they’re even organizing a 2020 edition of Bordel Des Arts, where you can get a socially distanced tarot reading. Check out their Facebook page for the latest news.

Birgit & Bier

The folks at Birgit & Bier are trying hard to restore everyone’s faith in 2020 with different kinds of events. They’ve been organizing open-airs called “Save the Summer”, and on Sunday the 29th they’re hosting the Berlin Hummus Festival!

OXI Garten

For those of you who want to discover something new, look no further: OXI Garten is the recent location some Berliners have already embraced as one of their favorite new open-air spots. Check out their Facebook page to see what artists are playing there.

Sisyphos

Sisyphos has always been known for its unique outside area, so one could reasonably expect that the club will come alive once again as soon as Corona regulations make it possible. And Sisyphos didn’t disappoint: apart from other events, they currently host weekly concerts “Live am Strand”. Check out their current program here.

While it can’t be said for sure if the current safety measures that allow these open-air parties are enough to avert or manage the second wave of the pandemic, official parties with some regulations are most likely safer than illegal raves in Hasenheide. We’re hoping for the best. Happy safe partying!
