Neurosex Pornoia – A Queer Cyberpunk Post-Porn Project

Neurosex Pornoia – A Queer Cyberpunk Post-Porn Project

Berlin is full of surprises and in some way, everything goes. The queer cyberpunk post-porn series Neurosex Pornoia by Eric Pussyboy and Abigail Gnash is one of these surprises that hit us out of nowhere. Of course, it should not be a surprise because with projects like Pornceptual, the big success of the Porn Film Festival and long-forgotten sex clubs like KitKat on the rise again a pornographic video series was just about the next natural step. With its geeky, punky and trashy style the show is pretty much a niche thing but with its references to sci-fi and porn, it will surely tickle the interest of a bigger audience. It tells the story of a world where sex can be translated into code that can be downloaded, but of course, this goes terribly wrong and what was meant to be a pleasure becomes something else. So far there are two episodes out that have been screened at various film festivals and events all over the world.

Ecke Weserstraße – A Berlin Hipster Soap

Ecke Weserstraße – A Berlin Hipster Soap

I’m a total TV show addict and one of my dreams has always been a drama show about life in Berlin. Not because  life here is particularily dramatic, quite the contrary, but in those 14 years that I’ve been living here, I have experienced and heard enough stories that could fill a couple of seasons.

With the new independently produced show Ecke Weserstraße my little dream might have potentially come true. Created and produced by Johannes Hertwig and  Hayung von Oepen the show tells the story of three young friends who live in the popular Reuterkiez and try to make it in Berlin. The trailer already has some lines that are pretty on point and painfully true: “Every victim here has their own blog and that’s why they everyone believes they can do it too.” Haha, are you talking about us? Well, I understand where this criticism comes from. But personally, as someone who has been blogging for 7 years and is part of an early generation of bloggers, I still congratulate everyone who starts something new, a fashion blog, a tumblr, your own little sock label. It doesn’t matter that there are already so many people out there already doing similar things. If you have the chance to try yourself out, do it and don’t let other people discourage you. I’m really curious what Ecke Weserstraße is going to express with this matter. More about it and all three episodes after the jump.

Me – A Television Junkie

Me – A Television Junkie

Although I don’t even own a television, I watch tons of series. Aside from cinema culture and Berlinale the past few months have turned me into a television junkie and I’ve watched multiple series back to back. The third season of Homeland reunited Nicholas Brody and Carrie Mathison on the screen. After the third season of GIRLS I am now officially in love with Adam and last night saw the season and series finale of How I met your Mother, which I will most likely watch in my lunch break at the latest. So what should i watch now? Everything is done, over, out! Do you have recommendations?

And of course if you haven’t watched the above mentioned series: DO IT! Or don’t, because it takes serious chunks of time out of your days….

4 Days to Halloween: American Horror Story

4 Days to Halloween: American Horror Story

Not only is the TV show American Horror Story by Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuck my inspiration for the brand new visuals of our Halloween event The House of Haunted Hearts, it is also my absolute favorite show since forever. Well, since The X Files at least.

If you have already seen it, you will probably agree with me. And if you haven’t, boy you need to catch up! This show is insane and completely out of control. If you are easily offended by bizarre sex scenes, racial insensitivity, political incorrectness and overall madness, than you should maybe not watch it. Otherwise it’s going to be great fun and absolutely horrifying. The show is set up as an anthology show which is quite innovative for a TV show. Every season has a completely different storyline and set of characters, only they are played by the same cast of actors with some variations and famous guests. The star of the show is the divine Hollywood diva Jessica Lange who is just amazing in all her roles in the show.

Right now we are in season 3 that is all about fabulous, yet lethal witches. The first season was about a family moving into a murder house with lots of dangerous ghosts making their life a nightmare, and the second season was about a cruel mental asylum including possessed psycho nuns, patient torture and angry deformed monsters in the backyard. It’s all very jolly and fun – in a sweaty nightmare kind of way… Enjoy the trailers after the jump. And maybe they inspire you for a good Halloween costume?

Serie/ous Addiction: Orange is the new Black

Serie/ous Addiction: Orange is the new Black

I started to share my passion for TV shows here about a year ago but I somehow never got around to continue what I had started. But my latest addiction finally made me come back to it because it’s simply too good to not share it.

Orange is the new Black might sound a bit strange as a title, but it’s acutally the best new series that I have seen in quite a while now! It’s written by Jenji Kohan, who also created another beloved show of mine called Weeds, and it’s one of those shows that I would heartly recommend to just anyone regardless of their taste in TV shows because I consider this pretty accessable and likeable for everyone who has a brain, a heart and sense of humor. Find out more about it and watch a trailer after the jump.

Serie/ous Addiction: The British

Serie/ous Addiction: The British

While everyone is abuzz about the new Miu Miu campaign video starring Chloe Sevigny I can’t help but wonder how many of those fashion enthusiast and Chloe fans actually know about her recent leading role in the scandalous British tv series Hit & Miss. In this new show the hipster icon plays a pre-op transsexual who also happens to be an assassin and who also happens to get caught up in the affairs of a white trash family. It’s quite the story and this being NOT an American productions it’s far from being sentimental and predictable.

After the jump you can see the trailer along with some other British series gems that I would like to recommend. After all there is more than HBO and co…

Genius TV!

Genius TV!

I don’t know if I am the only one this happens to, but when I am at home and have time on my hands I just cannot seem to think of a good film to watch. So I asked around and friends recommended old and new, trash and art house, comedies and drama. Plenty of films to choose from, but I somehow got stuck on something else…

All that Jazz!

All that Jazz!

I never watch television apart from Sunday nights. It’s very difficult to lure me away from the screen then, because at 11 p.m. ttt is on which is hosted by Dieter Moor and I must admit I am almost a little bit in love with him. Thus he always tells me Good Night at the end of the week and I can doze off in peace.

When I read that Dieter Moor was hosting the Award Ceremony of the Echo Jazz 2012 I accepted the invitation immediately…
