These Berlin Beer Gardens Are Serving Club Vibes

The final days of summer are upon us, and soon Berlin will descend into its dark and dismal winter. Soak up the final rays of sun in some of our favorite “Biergarten” (beer gardens), open-air clubs, and rooftop bars. Peruse this list, pick your favorite, and make the trip. Make sure to check Resident Advisor, Facebook, or our events page for all the latest news about events. Cheers!

Renate Garten

We’re no strangers to Salon Zur Wilden Renate here at IheartBerlin. We’ve covered them many times before and are big fans of their beer garden. It’s open Thursday through Sunday and almost always includes a theatrical show that fits perfectly with the club’s playful and festive theme. They have both table and bar service, and Renate is one of the only clubs on this list to take card––a rarity in this city. Keep an eye on their social media for lineups and updates!

Birgit und Bier

Right along the canal in Wrangel Kiez lies Birgit und Bier, a casual biergarden and club. With delicious pizza and groovy music, this spot is also open all weekend from midday and events stretch late into the night. With the new 2G rules, they also open up inside floors in the evening, so it’s the perfect spot to transition from basking in the late-summer sun to hitting the dance floor.

Flanke Bar

Grießmühle’s new venue, Revier Südost, is one of the most talked-about of the summer, and for good reason. They have tons of events ranging from the legendary Synoid to comedy shows by the equally legendary Daniel Ryan Spaulding. Revier Südost is in a massive refurbished brewery in Schöneweide and consists of several areas, including the club, Flanke Bar (a beer garden for events), and the Subaermarkt––most Fridays and Saturdays, which includes stands selling fresh and organic fruits and veggies, pies, pastries, hot sauces, and more. Just make sure you make an ID with their system before heading out to Schöneweide for a drink in the sun, a quick shop for some groceries, or a 16-hour rave.

Sektgarden

://About Blank’s Biergarten is called Sektgarden, and it retains the same grime and glory of the formerly illegal venue. And in this spirit, Sektgarden never sells tickets online for their events. The line can get pretty long, so we recommend heading over a little early. They always have great lineups and the garden is sprawling chaos of secret floors and little spots to have a drink.

Humbolthain

Tucked away behind the Humbolthain station in Wedding (so close you can hear the s-Bahn coming), lies a club of the same name. Humbolthain is known for throwing parties with smaller DJs, but it’s the perfect opportunity to get to know some of the up-and-coming names in the scene. They have open decks and Tischtennis (ping pong) every Tuesday, and tickets are just three euros at the door. Join in on a game, spin vinyl if you dare, or just enjoy the atmosphere. Look for the sign with the black and white H when you exit the station.

Klunkerkranich

Klunkerkranich calls itself “the rooftop beer garden over Neukölln,” and we’d say that pretty much sums it up. This bar is located on the roof of the Neukölln Arkaden and is one of the best places in all of Berlin to watch the sunset. They also have food and great music to accompany the killer view, so we can always recommend a trip. Events start at 16:00. See you there.

Sisyphus

One of the most sought-after venues on this list, Sisyphus is always a great time. The sprawling venue behind the duck doors in Rummelsberg has three outdoor floors and all the necessities to keep you entertained for hours. That stretches far beyond the normal bar but also includes an ATM, kiosk for rolling supplies and snacks, fresh pizza and fries, and hidden pianos and rotary phones you can use to call different areas of the club. It truly is a party paradise, but tickets go fast. They go on sale every Tuesday night at 18:00 and usually sell out pretty quick, so set your alarms and get clicking.

Zenner

Another venue we’ve covered before, Zenner is a new Berlin staple. Located in Treptower Park with views of the Spree in an old villa that was one of the go-to spots for party animals of the 1800s. The venue was refurbished by the owners of Renate and just opened at the beginning of the summer. They now host events with different flavors of house, disco, soul, and jazz music, perfect for letting loose after a weekend of techno.
