Hope is put to a hard test — but without it, we’re not much. Enough fog to briefly forget the news, enough bass to sanctify nonsense — a staging of pomp against the darkness and back into the light. An oasis for the emotionally available, the chronically hopeful, for all whose confidence is rooted in the here and now. Darkness must never prevail — we shine against it. Bachstelzen & MaHalla — a sanatorium for the mind battered by madness. Out of constant alarm, into the oasis of ecstasy, with enough fog to cast a veil over yesterday’s news and plenty of bass to sweep away the gloom. A counter-world in a bubble of light, for all the emotionally available, the chronically hopeful, for all whose confidence is anchored in the here and now. Because we need the light to keep from going dark out there. In short: a festival for music, art, the beautiful & the offbeat, staged in the flow of time between the rough industrial walls of MaHalla. On December 31st at 10:00 p.m., a grandiose staging of the turn of the year begins in the Black Ballroom — dancing together from the darkness into the light. It continues across four floors through catacombs and in-between spaces, until the energy on New Year’s Day pours into a day rave high above and eventually dissolves back into the night. A place where everything exists, where the usual New Year’s Eve madness is left outside and replaced by: the rise of the Titanic. Tickets are also available at the door. RA ticket does not guarantee entry – purchased tickets will be refunded in that case.
