It’s that time of year again! PANSY will be hosting an actual DRAG RACE on Tuesday, August 8th in Hasenheide (please see attached image for exact location). Everyone is encouraged to enter to win! Contestants will run in high heels or platforms in broad daylight in full drag. There are cash prizes for the winner and for best dressed. Get your looks together!
Please note: this year is slightly different. Because we have grown so large, we have had to officially register the event with the Ordnungsamt. The police will be present. They will not bother us. Please ignore them.
High heels or large platform style shoes, a wig, hat, or head piece, and some form of makeup look are required to enter. Having said that, this is not a serious event. No one is going to police your look. Show up at 19h to sign up. You are responsible for your own safety. Practice running in heels and enter at your own risk!
This is a race in high heels/elevated platforms in order to give a little DRAMA. Otherwise, it’s just people running. The shoes are not meant to be gender-exclusive: all types of drag performers are encouraged to enter. Performers that are not able to wear elevated shoes are also encouraged to say ‘fuck the rules’ and enter anyway. It really doesn’t matter, it’s just drag. Have fun!
The race will start promptly at 19 Uhr and an extra special drag show will happen afterwards right in the park! This event is donation based and we will be collecting tips at the park (10-15€ sliding scale suggested goes direct to performers). Please give what you can.
