ÄTNA have achieved what many thought impossible in these times: from the underground to one of the most sought-after live acts and at the same time one of the most innovative electronic music projects of our time. 2022 will see the release of their second album “Push Life” with which the duo will be touring from March.
Already with their debut album “Made By Desire” ÄTNA presented themselves as avant-garde sound artists with a fine feeling for catchy hooks and driving rhythms. And their sounds are not only celebrated in Germany, meanwhile ÄTNA also count an ever growing fanbase in England and Russia. After features with Solomun, MEUTE, Marteria and working with the NDR Bigband at Hamburg’s Elbphilharmonie, there was no longer any doubt about Inéz and Demian’s versatility.
From their studio in their adopted home of Dresden, the two operate a little away from the big German music cities and perhaps that’s why they have remained so unmistakably themselves. In this way, the second album, once again produced by Moses Schneider, has become edgier and at the same time more accessible. In keeping with the album title, life pushes out of all the cracks and pores of the songs on “Push Life” – as with an organic being. Flat synths, distorted voices, detuned basses, everything is possible.
In the last years ÄTNA have gained a reputation as an excellent and exciting live band. Each of their concerts is a unique experience, where Inéz and Demian captivate their audience without exception. Last year they were the first German band ever to receive the ANCHOR Award.
