On Sat. Aug 3rd, we are sad to announce that we will be having our last B.A.M. BLACK ASS MOMENT SUPERNEGROES OF THE WORLD with our gorgeous Auntie, and long-time friend and collaborator, Lola Rose. This doesn’t mean they are leaving the family of Tipsy Bear, just the show itself will be flying off to save the world.
This is one of several shows which has suffered from low attendance over here at Tipsy Bear, and we notice a worrisome trend of shows with very specific community intentions being the ones which are suffering the most.
We invite you all to make this last show a successful one and pack the house to celebrate this stunning monthly gathering of queer, black artistry and community.
We know how expensive life is getting, how depleted everyone feels. Any support that we receive from you all is always deeply appreciated. We hope that transparency around this show reaching a close can inspire more consideration of the extra support needed by our artists bringing specific and necessary community spaces to our bar, and thus to this city.
Nightlife is not just an escape, it is a way to form intentions and find each other and build new worlds, safer worlds for each other to exist fully as trans and queer people. We believe that together we can keep this work sustainable, and allow these spaces to flourish.
