Brave New Brunch Returns in its usual, unusual fashion..
Berlin’s most unorthodox brunch is back! DJ & music producer Moderna [Brave New Rave] and her wife Jen Florin the co-founder of Cookies Events return with the 7th edition of Brave New Brunch. This twice-yearly event takes place outdoors Sunday, July 21st at the beautiful Studio C, by the water in Rummelsburger Bucht.
Born from pandemic creativity, Brave New Brunch is a celebration of cutting-edge food, enthralling music, and a stunning location. Past editions have featured high-end chefs like Icelandic Chef Victoria Eliasdóttir and Performance Chef Caique Tizzi, alongside local Berlin DJs such as Curses, Alinka and JenniferTouch to name a few.
This year’s first edition promises to be unlike any other.
Moderna curates the music with Berlin-based Peter Invasion and Mexico-based Baby Mango. The afternoon unfolds with a five-course “future food” menu by Mikrokosmos,
Known for pushing culinary boundaries. Chef Diego Castro (Peruvian-born, former agricultural engineer) and his partner Nicol Sartirani has a philosophy that revolves around creating menus that set milestones in the realm of “insectarian cuisine”. Yes, you read that right – bugs! But these aren’t your backyard creepy crawlies – these are healthy, delicious insects that compliment delicious vegetarian seasonal and regional ingredients. It’s a culinary adventure not to be missed!
If you’re feeling not-so “Brave” there is a “No-Bug” vegetarian option available.. All tickets must be purchased in advance. Due to limited capacity, tickets are expected to sell out. Children 5+ must have a ticket.

Starters to share:
• Insects “Fritto Misto”
• Chapulines
• Cucumber and melon aguachile with blueberries
• Zucchini carpaccio with strawberry tiger milk, mustard seeds, fermented mirabelles, and pumpkin seed oil
• Eggplant escabeche with onions pickled in hibiscus vinegar and black cumin
First dish:
• Chanterelle anticucho in cold potato-chili mash, truffle Huancaina, dried egg yolk, and roasted spring onions
Second dish:
• Roasted carrots with peanut-black mint sauce, blueberry umeboshi, black sesame tahini, vegan yogurt cream, and salsa macha
Dessert table:
• Tarte Tatin variations
• Chocolate Pralines (Worms Rocher)
