Hello,
We wrote a letter with everything we wanted to say, and put it right on the artwork.
In these ten years, Closer has grown in many ways and also from four to sixteen residents. Sixteen unique artists, each with their distinct approach, taste, and style. The war scattered us across the globe, and even though we do our best to stay connected from afar, the full vibrancy of Closer can only be experienced when we get together in one place.
For the event at Zenner we are bringing 12 out of 16 residents, which never happened during the war and even during peaceful times. The rest 4 DJs will be showcased online on youtube via Mudd Show, who went to Kyiv to shoot during the first part of the big celebration (mid of October).
The party will occupy two dance floors and continue until at least noon on Sunday.
Please, DO come early to experience a tender opening of the event at 10 p.m.:
featuring Closer’s live-music-curator, AmIJazz festival founder and many-kinds-of-music DJ Olha Bekenshtein and Ukrainian musician Mykola Lebed performing his live with saxophone and multiple electronic instruments in the middle of the room.
We are also set to transform the look and feel of the dance floor by bringing the Ukrainian light and stage installation company, Blck Box, to the venue.
We kindly invite you to join our celebration, whether it’s to say hello, have a proper dance, or get acquainted with us for the first time.
