DAKHABRAKHA is still something of a cult phenomenon. For 20 years, the award-winning, theatrical quartet of multi-instrumentalists has experimented with Ukrainian folk melodies and rhythms, motifs from Eastern Europe and Western Asia, mixing genuine, ethnically specific material with minimalism. DakhaBrakha create wild and unforgettable music that is both sacred and modern. The band’s infectious charisma lies in its roots – DakhaBrakha was founded in 2004 by Vladyslav Troitskiy, the director of the avant-garde theater Dakh, and his influence is still felt in the band’s shows.
