In the beginning there was pure chance and sheer impossibility. And yet here they are, together now in the perpetual in-between. While the world as they know it is falling apart. Six characters on the stage, dancing on the edge of the abyss, looking to escape the seemingly inescapable cycles of human existence. The seasons, atmospheric conditions are looming, in a quiet entanglement, as everything seems to turn against so-called life and certain death in four chapters. Spring, summer, autumn and winter transform into birth, life, death and reincarnation – the eternal recurrence of the same, it’s all and nothing, for all of us and none.
Amid wet moss and gathering storms, the Belgian director Benjamin Abel Meirhaeghe explores the force of destruction as the beginning of humanity, and tells, in a series of sudden slides into and out of the living world, the story of becoming and being.
