Seven gates. Seven sacrifices.
DESCENT is a live performance where flesh, sound, and silence remembers what logic forgot.
A dancer undresses the myths they inherited. A cellist mourns. A sound designer builds the atmosphere live, breath by breath.
Guts are dragged. Hooks swing, suspended. Soil closes in.
How do you come back after that?
You don’t. Not as the same.
The ancient Sumerian myth of Inanna’s descent for a modern context. A contemporary performance piece by performer Riley Davidson and cellist Moritz Ebert, with Juan Cernadas sound design.
As we descend into the collapse of the empire, like Inanna, we must shed the versions of ourselves rooted in colonial ways of thinking. A container for the wordless rage and grief of our own complicity. A ritual for untangling the mess of the generations past. There is no way forward without descent.
There are 3 performances, one each day on the 8th, 9th & 10th of April. The event will start at 7pm and last for around 90 minutes without breaks. Doors will be open from 6pm. Please, arrive at ‘doors open time’ so that your ticket purchase can be completed before 7pm!
