Following the success of their previous project, the widely praised Like A Berliner book that showed life in Berlin in all of its colors, Sophia Halamoda and iHeartBerlin stuck their heads together again to come up with some new hilarious characters and comics directing a spotlight on Berlin’s infamous and vibrant club culture. All of them will come together at DISCO BALL CITY – the new comic exhibition opening on May 3rd at The Social Hub Berlin.
With a big sense of humor and self-irony, the exhibition will portray those curious club kids and party people that make the city’s nightlife so unique. In the center of it all and as a guiding light through the Berlin night stands the iconic TV tower that for many resembles a giant disco ball – it couldn’t be a more suitable symbol for Berlin.
In collaboration with the beautiful and colorful space of The Social Hub, the artist will create a unique immersive comic installation that will let visitors step right into her comic phantasies during the exhibition opening on May 3rd. Sophia will also do a live drawing session where you can become a part of her Halamodiverse and present several of her incredibly witty comic books as well as prints of her most iconic works and other surprises.
Hold tight for this exhibition that will take you on a journey through the night of this one-of-a-kind metropolis, through the eyes of Sophia Halamoda, iHeartBerlin, and The Social Hub.
Exhibition Opening: May 3rd, 2023, 19:00h
The Social Hub, Alexanderstr. 40, 10179 Berlin-Mitte
The exhibition runs until May 31st, open daily around the clock.
