Divine Mutations is a solo exhibition by Anto christ , exploring the face of higher powers. Works on canvas and paper will be shown alongside one creature.
Anto Christ is a multidisciplinary artist. Born in Malta and raised in Sydney, Australia. In her work she explores what is beyond the tangible world we live in. Through mediums such as crochet, painting and photography, she creates images that seem to spring from a mutated nature, taking us on a journey through mythology, storytelling, religion and psychology.
Working closely with her partner Casio Ono, she creates „creatures“ that represent a place in the human psyche that seems unfamiliar to many, thereby raising questions about what lies behind our human construction of reality. By repeating forms and intensifying the richness of our natural color world, she creates these creatures, which represent beings that give us a glimpse into an unknown world. Through the media given to it, she brings this world to life – Adornism. The concept of over-decorating oneself through art.
