DURATION is a residency program at Monopol hosted by Boris Acket. He has invited a few fellow artists, including Lumus Instruments, Samuel De Jong, Elsemarijn Bruijs, Maarten Vos, and Pink Oculus, to join him in creating a temporary studio abroad. The central focus of the residency is an installation in the main hall titled EINDER / surface, which comprises a moving ceiling made of a unique translucent fabric. Additionally, two other works are presented in the smaller halls of Monopol.
During their two-week stay at Monopol, the artists graciously host open studio events that allow visitors to view their artworks during the day and enjoy musical performances in the evening.
This residency program offers a wonderful opportunity for visitors to have a close-up sneak peak into cross-collaborative endeavors by artists, coders and musicians. The residency blurs the lines between gallery, performance space, and media art, creating a unique experience for all who attend.
