For the first time a party centered and focused on body pride! Reclaiming Fat! Reclaiming our bodies!
With Dornika releasing their music video FATBULOUS and performing live. A fat centered dance floor with Music from Stella of Body Language, a mini pageant to celebrate each other hosted by Mother Ambrossia alongside body positive flast tattoos from Bard and size inclusive market from Bad Ass Prints.
“Fatbulous isn’t just a song; a party, it’s a way of thought and activism. You can’t stop people trying to hurt you, you can only transform how what they are saying affects you. Fatbulous isn’t about saying fat is good and skinny is bad, it’s about criticizing beauty standards that go against the body’s natural evolution, especially brown and black, queer and trans, fat and short, disabled and non-normative bodies. I used fatness and my own personal (ongoing) struggle with being raised in a fatphobic and racist/sexist society, but you can use the same way to transform any other wounds you may have. I say, let them say fat, instead of trying to stop them and give fat negative connotations, I’ll say hell yeah!
