A group of men lives in the forest. They have temporarily left their families to find themselves and their masculinity. Under the motto “Father, Man, Human” they live in the self-organized association “Forest of Connected Fathers” in order to overcome the fatherly crisis of meaning and to be able to return to the outside world. But how does one become a better man? The residents have decided to go public with this question. On the open days they want to present their situation and win new friends for the association.
The performance installation Forest of the Lost Fathers is the third immersive work of PATHOS 2000. Through the detailed set and the dense narrative, the visitors enter the world of the association, where reality and fiction blur. Over the course of several hours, the audience participates in various program points of the association, experiences intimate encounters with the characters and discovers the camp.
PATHOS 2000 are a directing duo consisting of Avi Bolotinsky and Ivana Sokola. Since 2017 they have been developing immersive performances in Berlin and Hamburg with a strong reference to text and visual art. In their joint work, they explore the possibilities of space and fiction.
