Fotografiska Berlin–the new museum for photography–proudly announces Fotografiska DAYS: a three-day event program under the main topic CULTURAL FABRIC – Rereading the Relationship Between Art and Fashion Practices.
In a world of omnipresent digitalization and brand awareness, images and narratives–the key currencies of a visually driven culture–yield the power to both form and transform cultural currents. What multiplicities of meaning are we assigning to these visual codes and
how can we unpack them? The program aims to examine the power of visual language in relation to art and fashion by rereading diverse image- and brand-making strategies, including their creative and subversive potential. We want to address the instability of images in different media, alongside the emancipatory potential of their consumption and interpretation.
To celebrate the end of Fotografiska’s inaugural group exhibit, it’s invited some of Berlin’s finest local DJs for a finale party at Atelier Garden, an old film campus overlooking Tempelhof Airport.
