Dreams are ethereal and symbolic narratives that originate from the depths of our imagination. They offer us access to the unconscious aspects of our personality that are often hidden behind our conscious ego. Intrinsically, dreams provide us with insights into the secrets of our inner life, revealing hidden factors of our personality, This is what makes them so mystical and awe-inspiring.
Jung believed that dreams were allegorical stories unique to each individual, designed to teach us truths about ourselves. They are the doors that unlock information about who we are at core and reveal hidden factors of our personality. “Who looks outside, dreams; who looks inside, awakes.” he once stated.
Hidden Doors will open the gates to the dreamscapes and inner worlds of 11 European Queer artists and performers. The show explores how these alternate realities have helped the artists better understand themselves, providing them with the cues necessary to understand their identities; transform their realities and ultimately get closer to their own individual truth.
