If one person deserves to be called a “total work of art,” it’s LIE NING from Berlin: just in his mid-twenties, singer, dancer, model, actor and director. His message: charity. He spreads this consistently and authentically since his debut EP “traffic songs for the inbetweens” 2019 and enchants with his velvety voice and hypnotizing charisma.
With his single “tonight” alone, he now counts over 2.4 million streams on Spotify and has long been on the radar of national as well as international magazines and blogs. Paper Magazine, for example, writes of him, “It’s true: his voice is like the spiritual child of Billie Holliday and Anohni, vibrating with melancholy and deep pools of emotion.”
Just before the pandemic began, the modern R&B and soul singer played the Eurosonic Nooderslag Festival and opened for ÄTNA and Raphael Saadiq. This summer and fall were also filled with shows: Whether supporting Giant Rooks, Milky Chance and Joy Denalane or at Watt En Schlick, Popkultur, MS Artville or the Reeperbahn Festival including a nomination for the prestigious ANCHOR Award – LIE NING knows how to captivate the audience with his sound and his appearance.
After all the euphoria of these shows, the anticipation for the first own concert on 07.12.2021 in his homebase Berlin is even greater.
