Pitchtuner (Record Release Party)
Pitchtuner, that’s the Japanese Miki Yoshimura and Johannes Marx. The two Berliners by choice will release their new album ‘Dirty Loops’ in April. There is also a new member for the band: the pink robot PiTuRo will accompany the two on tour and support them with dance.
Pitchtuner’s style is a combination of indie pop and DIY dance electronics. Mixed in is an idiosyncratic, charming Japanophilia. Their mission: to find the perfect interaction between man and machine. How can the live experience and the top-heavy way of programming beats and electronic sounds be combined and realized live?
No Romance: Dream Pop/Post Punk
Berlin-based No Romance spin a bewitching tapestry; balancing darkness with dancefloor-ready music that draws as much from the electronic-fueled nightclubs of their adopted home of Berlin as from the rich shoegaze and gothic post-punk lineage of their native UK and New Zealand. No Romance was formed in 2019 as a sonic collaboration between UK born Goldsmiths Pop Music graduate Lucy Holliday (she/her), and New Zealanders Isaac Hickey (they/them), and Joel Ivan Thomas (he/him). In 2021, Californian bassist and synth player Hannah Gonzalez (she/her) joined the ranks. Their debut EP “Unfold” received international radio play and blog coverage, being described as, “exuding gothic melodrama from every synthetic pulse,” and their live show has been recognized locally for its innovative and contemporary sound.
