Nerdy, opinionated and surprisingly tasteful over the years, Pitchfork is considered by many to be the “most trusted voice in music”. It therefore makes sense that the brand has also been staged as a live event for quite some time in selected music metropolises such as Paris, London and Berlin with hand-picked acts. Pitchfork Music Festival Berlin focuses on newcomers and adventurous acts with great potential and giving them a platform in handpicked venues – in the case of Berlin’s edition, which takes place from 1. to 5. November, these are Zenner, silent green Kulturquartier, the Festsaal Kreuzberg and the Astra Kulturhaus.
This year’s line-up promises exciting nights: For example, celebrated Israeli singer, musician and producer Dudu Tassa teams up with award-winning composer and guitarist Jonny Greenwood (Radiohead, The Smile), while rapper, poet, performance artist and activist Mykki Blanco will present his vision of queer rap music. The band Porridge Radio as a new vibrant voice, as well as interesting blend of art-rock and post-punk is also a reason to look forward to. Also on the bill is singer, songwriter & producer Sevdaliza, who has been wowing audiences for years with her avant-garde, emotional, political pop designs.
