After a super successful first edition in December last year, C/O Berlin and Airbnb are following up and once again inviting photography lovers for free to the Open House – hosted by Airbnb on July 1, 2022 at the current exhibitions. Between 11 a.m. and 11 p.m., everyone can visit the current exhibitions such as the retrospective “Susan Meiselas. Mediations” (for the first time in Germany) – with free admission. Between 2 p.m. and 9 p.m., there will be hourly guided tours of the entire building. From 5:30 p.m. the evening program begins, for which Susan Meiselas will be present in person. At 6:30 p.m., she will give a talk in the cinema hall. Afterward, there will be music in the foyer by DJ Bonnie and everyone will get a free drink in the cafe.
Susan Meiselas is considered a pioneer of politically motivated documentary photography with a special focus on marginalized and disadvantaged groups. Her portraits have a collaborative approach with the people depicted, which is also considered a distinctive feature of her photography. Many emotional stories and moving moments are shown that will captivate its viewers.
