217 days in a row Tanya Sharapova photographed one Stranger in a day. Strangers project came as an attempt to build connections with others and the Berlin city during increasingly isolated times.
During more than 7 months of the second lockdown, the closest safe distance Tanya could stand to anyone on a street was one meter and a half. At this exact distance, she made close-up portraits of Strangers, who she met during her endless cycle trips around Berlin. After the last portrait has been taken at the end, the Strangers project culminated as a permanent record of the era. It serves as a personal and public diary of the different experiences and lives of Berliners during this peculiar time.
