With a two-parted event the local, curatorial collective MOVE.UNLTD takes a look at the physical heartbeat of nightlife: dance. On January 14th 2023, Kühlhaus Berlin will become a movement hub. The first part of the day presents a solo piece by Cosmos presented by Sensidance. The second part of the day is dedicated to Ballroom culture with the Cold Breeze Kiki Ball bringing together Europe’s Ballroom community for the evening.
MOVE.UNLTD wants to curate a day with an evolving dynamic. While the performance is more experimental and looking inwards, the ball reveals the explosive, extroverted energy of dance. These two notions create an exciting balance for the 24 hours at Kühlhaus. The event is supported by #savethenight by Jägermeister.
The French-Caribbean artist Cosmos will show his solo piece “Del Sol” which echoes the deliverance of the spirit of the ancestors through rave culture. “Del Sol” deals with identity exploration and the paradox between mind and body, roots, history and the future by using afro-descendant musical movements such as House, Rock, Jazz(rock), Techno, R’n’B and Rap. The Paris based dancer is presented by the curatorial series Sensitivities of Dance (Sensidance) founded by performer and painter Thomias Radin. After the performance, Radin, Cosmos, and host Jumoke Adeyanju will hold a roundtable talk and invite the audience to ask questions.
