A circle is a shape, a system, a gathering, a place. It stands for a wholeness and harmony; of cycles and coexistence. A circular arrangement creates a space that is both open and framed. It can be a closed curve of friends or players, of music, prayer, time. Opposites meet here—hard and soft, pain and pleasure, proximity and distance, activity and passivity, comfort and discomfort, day and night. They exist as a whole, connected in balanced tension. A dynamic emerges that transcends linear dramaturgy. There is no beginning nor end, only an eternal process of becoming and unbecoming.
At Gropius Bau, visitors are invited to linger, dance, and observe, or become part of the action in a scenography that envelops music, performances and installations. The immersive interdisciplinary event is about presence, about what we share in the open, about enduring contradictions. A circular practice of intimacy, tenderness, and vulnerability, amidst exhaustion, violence, and oppression is shared by artists and performers, musicians and DJs Evita Manji, otay:onii, Keioui Keijaun Thomas, Larry, and New Noveta.
