One Black teacher said, “That’s just perspective.” Since he was in charge of the exams himself, he was testing Black History. There is a connection from the Black history teacher to the fact that Thiago Rosa is now in Europe, living in Berlin. There is a connection from Thiago Rosa’s Black grandmother through the blanks in the history books to the fact that Thiago Rosa is an artist: He trained as a visual artist in Rio de Janeiro; lithography is his medium here. The surface is scratched, scraped, chiseled so that the stone leaves the desired shape on the paper. Then Thiago Rosa switched to acting and to dance at the Hochschulübergreifendes Zentrum Tanz Berlin (HZT Berlin), among others. Today he acts as a performance artist with his own body as a medium of expression.
