Everything is fleeting – performance, the body, life, home. Exiled in Germany, choreographer Ivan Estegneev looks back at himself as a dancer, son and human being. In the moment of performance, he seeks to express the processes of letting go as well as holding fast. How do you bid farewell to a deceased father from afar, an ageing body, disappearing art? The solo performance “Die Trauer des Dämons” (“The Demon’s Mourning”) is a biographical reflection on the brevity of a moment that transforms into something different with each new breath.
