Are you looking for a suitable special outfit for Christmas and New Year’s Eve but you don’t want to just buy something for it to be hanging in your closet for the rest of the year? Then you should check out the WeDress community!
The Berlin-based community project is hosting its very first pop-up store at the Galeries Lafayette from November 25, 2022, until January 2nd, 2023, and will give you the possibility to rent your next glamorous outfit instead of buying it. It proves that sustainable fashion rentals can coexist with traditional retail in the same space – something that was completely unthinkable not too long ago.
Renting those unique outfits that you really only wear once or twice for special occasions makes so much sense. Not only do you save a lot of money, you also save space in your wardrobe, and – most importantly – you participate in the circular economy which is shaping up to be the future of fashion.
At the WeDress Pop-up store you have the opportunity to see many outfits live and up close and try them on – and ultimately rent your favorite ones right there on the spot. This way you can show your own interpretation of “sustainable glamour”.
WeDress Collective is a platform that allows its community members, also referred to as WeDressers*, to rent and borrow high-quality garments. In this way, the community creates more clothing choices by using what is available, while reducing its ecological footprint. The makers of WeDress strongly believe that a sustainable fashion experience in the luxury segment is possible and desirable.
