Dutch-Surinamese artist Parrish Smith’s long-standing mantra is “no elitism, no prejudices, no genre. Hypnotic, tense, comprehensible, a state of mind.” This dictum captures the essence of his sets, consisting of hard, unconventional tracks spanning noise, industrial and techno as well as his debut album Light, Cruel & Vain, released last year on Dekmantel. Parrish Smith will be playing tonight at Säule as part of the WEEEIRDOS party. VINVAR, and Berlin’s grande dame of techno, Ellen Allien.
