Alternde Meister / Fountains of Youth — a living tableau unfolding across the Gemäldegalerie’s galleries, bridging theatre and museum. As part of Berlin Art Week, @ersanmondtag and @nadim.samman stage a dialogue between 25 performers and the Gemäldegalerie collection: Old Masters’ pictorial worlds set against the transience of contemporary bodies and lives.
The performance explores exhaustion and reinvention, disappearance and endurance, while creating a collective portrait of Berlin—its identity built on youth and freedom, and the fractures in that narrative. Visitors can decide when to enter and how long to stay with each individual performance. Each performance lasts 90 minutes and takes place across several rooms within the Gemäldegalerie.
