The architect of posthuman pop is performing an exclusive show at
the prestigious Theater des Westens in Berlin.
For years, American artist Alexandra Drewchin—under her stage name
Eartheater—has defied categorization. Eartheater’s musical world takes shape somewhere between an industrial fever dream, medieval folklore, avant-garde opera, and futuristic club sounds. The New York City-based musician, composer, producer, and performer is currently regarded as one of the most radical and significant voices in experimental pop music.
Even her early work—including “Metalepsis” (2015) and “RIP Chrysalis” (2015)—caused quite a stir in the New York underground scene. “IRISIRI” (2018) marked her international breakthrough. Abstract song structures and spiritual psychedelia, paired with distorted beats underpinned by classical instrumentation, form an avant-garde, experimental collage in a class of its own.
With “Phoenix: Flames Are Dew Upon My Skin” (2020) and “Powders” (2023), Eartheater cemented her status as one of the most exciting and groundbreaking artists at the forefront of the pop avant-garde.
Collaborations with global stars such as FKA Twigs, Shy Girl, and Caroline Polachek have followed. Through Chanel, Mugler, and Acne Studios, her soundtracks have made their way onto the world’s most important runways. As if that weren’t enough, Eartheater has delivered acclaimed performances at the Primavera Festival and Coachella.
