Furiosa is simply the most FUN Party in Berlin. Period.

When I came back to Berlin from a longer period of living in Colombia a few year’s ago it was quite the adjustment going back to clubs and parties here. Dark, grungy spaces, grumpy looking people, no smiles, no openness – I had gotten used to how fun partying is with Latinos. I was pleasantly surprised though that in my absence a bubbling scene of Latino parties had formed here in Berlin that I instantly logged onto. It was just the right timing for a smooth transition for me. One of the first parties I discovered here over 3 years ago was Furiosa, a queer Latin pop party that started out at Lark and now happens at Lido in Berlin, as well as several other German cities, and even in Madrid.

Furiosa for me is pure joy, happy people, big smiles, good vibes, fun music (if you’re into pop and Latin pop) – such a counterweight for all the techno parties here that require such a different energy and head space.

A year ago I also joined the team of Furiosa to take their party photos which could not have come at a better moment, because I had somehow lost a bit the connection to this type of photography due to the pandemic. Thanks to Furiosa I gained that connection again to the nightlife – experiencing a party through my lens. It’s what started everything in the late 2000s for me and it’s what iHeartBerlin became known for. Of course this became harder once clubs changed their photography policy and so it felt like that era was just over. Who would have thought this would come back to me after all these years. What’s funny is, I still use the same camera from back then because no new camera can do what my little old-school Canon can do.

The last Furiosa was in February and I just came fresh from the Charli XCX party at Studio 1111 to do my set at Furiosa. I was already on a high (without any substances) and landed at what I felt was the most fun Furiosa edition I’ve been to. It was a Brazilian edition so that might just be it, because these bitches sure know how to bring the vibes.

If you haven’t been to Furiosa because you think you’re not into Latin music and dancing to pop music isn’t cool – you’re really missing out! Seeing so many happy faces having fun is just such a vibe change from regular parties where everyone is somehow under such a pressure to be so cool. Furiosa is like a spa visit for the soul! And it’s a workout for your hips…

I love my last photo set from February and I wanna share it with you today hoping I can inspire you to come to the party tomorrow! Let’s have some fun!
