For many years now Berlin has opened new doors and possibilities to us as a magazine. Some collaborations where coincidences, others grew over time and space and became something as real and important as the digital work we do.
Since the re-opening of the Staatsoper Unter den Linden after its decade-long renovations, we had the pleasure to collaborate with the team of Staatsoper in several projects so far – always with the goal to open up doors and minds for new audiences to the magic of Opera, classical music and dance.
Our latest collaboration is making us especially proud since it’s the start of a unique event in a joined effort. At Cocktail & Movie Night on January 22nd we will show the movie Solaris that is closely related to the newest production of Staatsoper Berlin titled “Violetter Schnee”. Before the movie which will be screened in the beautiful all-marble Apollosaal, we invite you to have a complimentary drink with us created especially for this occasion by the team of Russian Standard Platinum.
The cult movie Solaris by Andrei Tarkowski is a dark and edgy ride through space and time. Based on the novel by the master of science fiction Stanislaw Lem. Solaris tells the story of a beautiful planet that is covered by a vast ocean. A team of human scientists is flying on a spaceship around it to study the planet. What they don’t know is that this planet is able to read their thoughts and memories and is capable to create humans on its own.
The story of Solaris is one of the inspirations of the newest Opera production of Staatsoper: Violetter Schnee by Beat Furrer (which plays on 16th, 24th, 26th and 31 of January 2019).
The visitors of the Cocktail & Movie Night will get a personal introduction by the team of the Opera before the screening. Also, you will get the possibility to buy a ticket for the opera to a very exclusive deal.
