It’s Fashion! It’s Madness! It’s Fashion Madness! You could also call it Berlin Fashion Week. What a treat! Of course for you this is only semi-interesting as the majority of events is only dedicated to fashion journalists, buyers, business people and those who interned in the right agency. But look how wrong you are! There is a big amount of events and parties that are open to the public or have a public registration page. Halleluja!! So all of you fashion enthusiasts can be part of the big fat fashion week. Next week is Fashion Week here in Berlin, hurrah! For us it’s definately one of the most exciting times of the year, especially since we are doing five events of our own this time. But as you know most of the events during Berlin Fashion Week are not even public but only for fashion professionals (and those who manage to sneak themselves in). But there still are quite a lot of events and parties that everyone can go to and we want to give you a little guide of the best ones. On top of that you can win a few copies of the brand new fashion book Berlin Catwalks.

This week is all in the name of fashion with the Berlin Fashion Week going into its next fall/winter 2011/12 season. Once again the week is brimming with exciting events from showrooms, fashion shows, designer sales, exhibitions and parties there are countless opportunities to get your daily overdose of fashion.

We have selected our favorite events of the week that involve designers that we like to give you a practical little guide to navigate safely through the week and see the best of avant-garde and street fashion during the day and strut your style at the hottest parties at night. As usual a part of the events are for invited people only, so to get in after all you either get back in touch with your old friend who now interns at agency X or you put on your fanciest dress and most convincing attitude for the girls at the guestlist. While you are hopping from one cocktail reception to the next you should try to get your hands on the daily newspaper by BerlinFashion.tv because my lovely co-authors C.R. and Suz have once again contributed a couple of articles for them.

Fashion Week is starting tomorrow and while C.R. gives you his anti-program I am busy preparing the .HBC Coutute: Designer Scouts show where Suz will be DJing and Jens will be taking pictures. Thank god, the Fashion Week is over, at least for Berlin and at least until summer. Oh Summer, a word out of alien spheres it seems, full of promises, dreams, hopes. Yiiiehaa! We got a little side program this week, Tuesday, Thursday, Sunday bringing a bit of a change into this boring city, haha! A designer turns Extrafein with a DJ straight out of hell, The Villa goes plastic, Sunday Séance back at HBC with only one Macaronic ( Tdaance). Berlin Fashion Week – Spring/Summer 2010 – Review Part 4

Lala Berlin, based in Mulackstraße, was supposed to be one of the highlights of Fashion Week. But the only light I could see was the brightness of the pink of the invitation card and of some dresses during the show. It started with a long waiting cause tons of people arrived late for the show. Then, a bunch of photographers blocked my view on the catwalk. My neighbour almost cricked his head in order to see which famous “celebrity” got so much attention. Soon the secret was solved: Fanta Vier sent one of their guys, sitting next to Heike Makatsch, Eva Padberg and this singing German youngster actress , I forgot her name. Gosh, had this been Germany’s celebrity elite? I suddenly felt bored in Lalaland.

As if my eyes hadn’t been strained enough that day, I was forced to see a boring collection of old granny knitted cardigans and those mentioned pink dresses that received – to my astonishment – thunderous applause. Well, not everything can be so good as Black Coffee or the show of Mongrels in Common, to me one of those rare designers who really know how to make good stuff.
