Taste Festival Berlin

Taste Festival Berlin

After the (private) opening ceremony tonight the first Taste Festival will open its doors to the public tomorrow on June 2nd. Until Sunday the 10th there will be special dinners events, concerts, performances, screenings, an exhibition and much more all in the name of food and design. This concept by the Direktorenhaus is quite new and innovative and after all those pop-up restaurants, performance dinner and supper clubs it was about time to bring the experience of eating to a new level. After the jump we picked some highlights of the festival as well as some preview images to wet your appetite.

EASTER SUNDAY SPECIAL by iHeartBerlin & Merkezi

EASTER SPECIAL

After last year’s Couture Eggs we are once again organizing a big Easter event for you guys. We have teamed up with Merkezi, the new food gallery at Kotti to give you the big EASTER SUNDAY SPECIAL. Starting at 12h we welcome you at the gallery with a variety of cakes and snacks, as well as coffee and drinks for your late breakfast or afternoon delight.

In the afternoon we are also sending you out into the sidestreets of Kotti to go on an Easter Egg Hunt. We’ll give you hints on where to find the eggs here on the blog and in the gallery. If you find them you can exchange them for awesome gifts sponsored by our friends from the new online shopping club fab.de. After the jump you’ll see a preview of what they have supplied us with.

In the evening starting at 22h we’ll ask you for a dance and turn it into a party with the fabulous SNAX live and wonderful DJ sets by Sophia Brown from the Tigeress (Backyard), Engtanzkavalier (Picknick) and Florian Kolmer (Scala, Flamingo). This is gonna be one hell of an Easter party! Join the Facebook event here. More details and previews after the jump.

The Cute Week

Pictoplasma

Pictoplasma

This week you shall not be surprised to see a lot of cute little monsters and quirky characters. No, it’s not the invasion of the new Pokémons, it’s the Pictoplasma Festival that brings a bunch of artists and illustrators to town that have specialized in character design. Of course this is by far not everything there is this week. See all the events after the jump.

The Hardcore Week

The Hardcore Week

This week is hardcore in many ways. A documentary festival movie (that’s hardcore if you prefer romcoms), a modern dance piece (that’s hardcore if you prefer going to the movies), a fashion fatwalk (no beauties and no skinny models here!), and a cabaret of art and hardcore fetish (that is hardcore probably for everyone…). The hardcore events (and some softcore as well) after the jump.

Feasting

Feast

This up there is the most delicious mashed potatoes I have eaten in my entire life. No kidding. The juicy meat dish in the background is also quite delicious. I enjoyed these tasty little dishes and more at Fortuna’s Feast in Neukölln the other week. It’s a private dinner salon that you can rent for your private dinner party (including the cook). It’s run by caterer Suzy Fracassa who has her own catering business Fortuna’s Table. If you are interested in her cooking talents you can go to one of her tasting events (regularely on Friday evenings, reservation only) where she presents her dishes and tries out new recipes. It’s a bit like a supper club actually.

This Easter Sunday she is having a big Easter Brunch with many of her special recipes. There’s going to be a serving at 10:30 for the early birds and at 14h for the party goers. I would love to go but I guess I’ll have to settle with the less exciting menu of my parents. Details after the jump.
