After weeks of preparations and anticipation it was finally time to reveal the Berlinferno on Saturday at Blogfabrik. Young Italian artist Nicola Napoli has created a huge artwork for the Absolut Art Bar series that is a tongue-in-cheek response to all the criticism Berlin has received lately and an interpretation of all the worries and fears that Berliners have about the changes of their city.
For this event we turned the Blogfabrik, our new co-working and event space at Kottbusser Tor, into a pink inferno full of eccentric fantastical creatures. It was so much fun to change up the place and re-use all the modular furniture, it was almost like a play-set for grown-ups. It was such a pleasure to work with Nicola who has such a creative mind and so much wit, and also with the guys from Absolut who proved yet again what a modern and progressive brand they are by letting us create a world around our idea and message. Thank you for making this such an enjoyable collaboration!
We were super happy about how everything came together in the end and how many of you showed up to the opening to have a drink with us. We also want to thank our super charming live act Heather Sparx who gave a great performance filled with her joyful synth pop tunes and lots of good energy and glitter, and of course to our DJ teams Rydim & Ricardo Esposito and Dada Disco who both played the most amazing music for us. Enjoy the photos after the jump.

Last Thursday it was finally time for a new project that we are part of to see the light of day. For the first time we invited people to see the new Blogfabrik space. The opening event was a huge success and so many came, more than we ever thought would. We are super proud and happy that the reactions were so positive and curious. It’s been really like a dream come true for us since we moved in back in May, but only now with the reactions of the people at the opening event we can finally realize and understand how amazing this project is.
I would like to thank the Blogfabrik godfather Holger Bingmann from the bottom of my heart for making this place a reality. It’s a huge undertaking and certainly not an easy one, but we are really grateful that someone has the faith in and enthusiasm for this project. I would also like to thank the Blogfabrik and Daily Bread Mag team Maria Ebbinghaus, Claudio Rimmele, Daniel Gruber and Danilo Sierra for rocking the house for us!
And now let’s get to it and look at some photos from our press preview afternoon and the opening party in the evening by photographers Anna Agliardi and Nils Krüger. Enjoy!

In a few days it’s already here: This year’s early edition of the Berlin Festival. It normally took place in the Fall, but with the changes the festival is going through they also moved their date into the Spring to be the first festival of the year to open the festival season. Since it’s change of location from Tempelhof to the newly founded Arena Park that includes not only the Arena itself but also a lot of the space, venues and parks around it, the festival has experienced pretty much a reboot. We are totally in favor of these changes and like that it has more of a club atmosphere now and seems a bit more true to the spirit of Berlins nightlife.
Speaking of nightlife! Absolut is one of this year’s supporter of the Berlin Festival and they know a thing or two about creative nightlife. In support of the Berlin Festival they commissioned XI Design to create five big street art murals spread over several in town in the spirit of their Absolut Nights campaign. They look super fun and are great additions to all the ones we previously reported about. After the jump you can see a making of video, some photos and you’ll get a chance to win a pair of last minute Berlin Festival tickets!

If you book a kick-ass huge venue like the stunning Kraftwerk Berlin it is pretty obvious that you are in for some series action. And boy, the Nights by Absolut Berlin edition was one hell of a party. The Swedish Vodka brand turned this industrial cathedral into an exotic jungles. Concret columns contrasted the lush greens, cut with laser beams and butterfly rain.
The obvious highlight of the night was the live laser couture performance by London-based Studio XO who equipped some dancers with stunning sculptural mirror dresses that shot laser beams onto their fellow dancers and surrounding crowd which were than reflected by mirror foile elements and mirror accessories creating one hell of a spectacle for the eyes. But look for yourself, a huge set of party impressions are to be found after the jump. Enjoy!

This coming Saturday premium vodka brand Absolut is bringing their new exciting event series Nights by Absolut to Berlin, and of course this is going to happen with a bang. They series launched in New York with a spectacular party earlier this month and the next one in Berlin is promissing to be just as great.
With their previous projects and collaborations Absolut has always been a pioneer in combining the nightlife experience with creative and artistic works and the Nights by Absolut will be no exception. For each of their events of this series they have invited one creative mega mind to come up with a project that will leave a lasting impression.
For their European launch on September 27 here in Berlin they invited London-based Studio XO to create an unforgettable experience in a massive location. Studio XO is specialized in combining couture with technology and they have already some really impressive collaborations in their portfolio such as the flying dress for Lady Gaga or the illuminated stage outfits for Azealia Banks, Rihanna, Beyoncé and Fergie.
In Berlin they will create something that could very well become their masterpiece. Fusing modern technology, fashion and elements of nature they will turn the impressive Kraftwerk Mitte into a one-of-a-kind experience. The visitors of the party will be equipped with special laser couture elements and they will project a playful picture of lights, colors and movement into this great space. I’m sure this is going to be one hell of a stunning looking party. If you want to be part of the Nights by Absolut, read on after the jump on how to win tickets.

As part of their new campaign Transform Today Absolut Vodka invited award-winning graphic novelist Rafael Grampá from Brasil to create a very special brand new animated film titled #NextFrame that is being developed right now and will celebrate its premiere next month here in Berlin at the MADE Space.
What makes this film very special is the fact that you can take part in the writing process by suggesting ideas and details or voting for them for each of the scenes of the film. Of all the suggestions that he receives through the Absolut Facebook page Rafael will pick his favorite ones and integrate it into the film.
It’s a very interesting participative concept and I’m super curious how the results of the input of so many people will come together in the end. I’m curious what elements they will chose to be suggested by people, so far it has been for the design of a tattoo of one of the characters, the choreography of a dance, and the look of two creatures that appear in the story. After the jump you can get some impressions of the process and see a video about Rafael. Get involved and start suggesting your ideas for the next scenes every day on Facebook until Febuary 21. Have fun!
