While we started off with geometric icecream our new series Berlin Goods continues with geometric leather bags by newly founded label Alpha Cruxis. Tasmanian-born designer Rebecca Martin is the creator of these wonderfully catchy accessories. The first collection that has been released about a month ago consists of five different models – shoulder bags, clutches and a purse – all made of genuine black leather, suede lining and silver hardware, beautifully handcrafted here in Berlin by Rebecca. With their geometric forms and minimalistic design these bags look absolutely iconic. Well done! Have a closer look at them after the jump.

When it comes to accessories for men the whole bandwith of this subsection of fashion seems suddenly awfully limited. Nonetheless there is at least one type of accessories that seems even more suited to men than to women. I’m talking about the watch. And when we’re talking about watches there is one absolute classic you will find in almost every fashion conscious person’s drawer: The Casio retro watch. It’s minimalistic design perfectly matches every outfit. It comes in all three metal colors: gold, silver and copper, and also in a matt black. Casio just released a few new models in their retro collection. Have a look after the jump.

Tanja Tikarli from My Skin Italy studied gaphic design but always loved accessories. A visit to her boyfriend’s family company (luxury leather goods craftsmen behind Italian ‘greats’ Balestra, Laura Biagiotti, Valentino, Lancetti to name-drop a few) sparked her creativity and luckily the boy was a willing accomplice. Together they have established their collection of hand crafted leather accessories with the skill of generations and a fresh design aesthetic. Read my interview with her here…

This week I interviewed designer/stylist Kalina Gospodinova. The hype is certainly building around her accessories label AN!MAL – rich in texture, dark in vibe. The layered, leather pieces tasselled up a stir over Berlin Fashion Week with an artfully dark fashion film directed by Emilio El-Lauren that was presented at the projektGalerie Pop-Up Shop. Featuring flashes of grappling leather clad girls to a persistent drumming beat you can certainly see the designer’s styling background come out to play and it’s all very animalistic… Enjoy the video and read my interview after the jump.

I grew up in medium-sized town at the Baltic Sea. Even though I’ve spent the better part of my life there I never really attached my heart to this city. When I moved to Berlin 12 years ago I instantly knew: This is my home. I was completely alone in the beginning, didn’t know anyone. It took me a while to connect with the right people, but even before I did I felt like this city is the love of my life.
I never considered any other city to call my home in all those years. Not London, not Paris, not New York. But now after my trip to Buenos Aires back in February this has changed. This city has infected me. The diverse, multicultural and thriving Argentinian capital seems to be as much as a playground for ideas and dreams as Berlin has been for me in the past years. And now the question is: Will I betray the love of my life for the first time?
Tomorrow I’ll fly to Buenos Aires for the second time and continue my affair with the South American city. My brand new Eastpak backpack is going to come with me marking a second “first time” because it’s the first time I’m actually travelling with a proper backpack instead of shoulder bag. The current campaign of the authentic lifestyle brand couldn’t be more spot on for me at this time: It’s about the things that truely inspire us and that we really live for. In my case that would be the urban playground that is Berlin, and – potentially – Buenos Aires. The life in cities like these is all about transformation and metamorphosis, invention and reinvention, evolution and revolution. You can either move with it or give the direction yourself.
Explore some awesome inspirational videos to do something new for a change. And ask yourself: When was the last time you did something for the first time?

On a small side street in Mitte, at the corner of Almstadtstrasse and Schendelgasse, only a two minute walk from the busy main street where shops such as Adidas and Nike are located, you’ll find a nice place where you can have a chat and a coffee. But I don’t want to introduce you to the cafe that is upstairs but to the vintage shop holding lots of treasures that you’ll find if you climb down the spiral stairs.
The Superstore is run by Asta from Reykjavik, David from New York and Yam from Valencia, who met in Berlin and decided to open a shop together. They regularly go around Europe to collect the finest clothes for their shop thus there are interesting and unique pieces to find. Vintage Christian Dior sunglasses for example, a cute dress that every girl just wants to take home or a jacket so sparkling you are gonna be the center of attention. Look at my choice of pieces after the jump.
