What Bar Type are you? – A Bar & Cocktail Guide for Berlin

Monkey Bar, 25h Hotel

One of the things that’s awesome about Berlin is the fact that it has something for every taste. This applies not just to the art galleries that range from big snobby ones to small playful ones, or the theater culture that has big name actors on huge stages on the one side and experimental pieces in improvised settings on the other. It is also something that you will notice in terms of nightlife. There is basically a party for every type of crowd and for every taste in music. The same goes for the bars and this is something I want to explore today.

What bar type are you? You like the classic ones with the best cocktails in the city? Or are you all about friendly and cosy atmosphere? Or do you like to have an awesome view over the city while sipping on your long drink? In our new comprehensive Bar Guide for Berlin we tried to split up the bar scene of Berlin by different types and give you some recommendation for every taste and occasion.

To save you from having to study the drinks menu for 10 minutes in every bar before you know what to order we consulted the cocktail archive of theBar.com and selected a few suitable drinks for each of our bar types. This website comes in handy when you are looking the right cocktail for you as you can search by occasion, spirit or ingredient and also have a look at the recipes that range from cocktail classics to new trendy drinks. Very practical! But now enjoy our bar and cocktail guide after the jump!

New Era goes Art

It is getting really cold and you pale since your tan has disappeared two months ago. Now it is all dependant on chosing the right concealer, otherwise someone at work or school might get suspicious. But how would you hide these dark circles around the eyes? (With a big fancy hat?) You can’t. And since you can’t, you can as well have a good time. Where when and how? We are gonna tell you after the jump:

Football My Ass

So, the city is in a frenzy about the Football World Cup. I couldn’t give a flying rats ass about this. But you sort of can’t avoid it. Everywhere you walk you’ll pass by one flat screen after the other so you will hardly miss a second of any game. As I seem to be one of very few people who do not care about this, I won’t withhold some nice recommendations for public/private viewings of the WM for those who care. Look for infos after the jump.

And while most most straight men actually really concentrate on the game, the girls and the gays might have some other reasons to watch the games. Here for example they are putting together the perfect team consisting of 11 handsome (mostly naked) men from all over the world. The winner get’s a photobook with naked men and footballs. How fun.

Chrismukkah

Clara Hill

For this Saturday we recommend a very special Chrismas event at Amano Hotel. A few months ago we had a lot of fun at the welcome party of this brand-spanking-new hotel. And now it plays host to a charming Christma/Chanukkah party in the afternoon that is not to be missed. A charity tombola with amazing prices and a good cause is the centerpiece of the event (more about that after the jump), but there will also be music, cakes and drinks, and a concert by the lovely Clara Hill who is the voice of Jazzanova. We saw her in the summer at the Arena Glashaus and she really is a wonderful performer with the most amazing voice. Please take a closer look at the program after the jump and come around on Saturday!

One Night Stand

One Night Stand at Amano Hotel

Two weeks ago Mercedes and I went to a welcome party of the brand new Amano Hotel at Auguststrasse corner of Rosenthaler. At the entrance we were greated with a handful of condomes which pretty much suited the theme “One Night Stand”. The invite came along with a little creative challange where we were supposed to write a sexy little story about who we would like to spent a night with in that hotel and what we would be doing. The 10 best stories would get a room on that evening to spend the night. Our impressions after the jump.
